SlashBeatz. Slash the Beat. Feel every Hit.

What SlashBeatz is

SlashBeatz is a rhythm game you play with your body. Your camera feed goes through pose tracking on the device, your wrists become two light sabers, and you cut cubes that arrive in time with the music. There is no headset and nothing to hold. No video ever leaves your machine either, because tracking, beat analysis and scoring all happen locally.

How to play

Open the play hub in a desktop browser and allow camera access. Pick a difficulty from Chill, Groove, Rush and Insane, or build a custom one. Then choose a track from the built in soundtrack, or bring your own by pasting a link or dropping an mp3 or wav file. Run the setup check so the camera can see your head, hands and hips, and start the run. Cubes are cut in the direction they show, and mines, X blocks and walls are there to be avoided.

Modes

Solo is a scored run against a track of your choosing. Multiplayer puts you against a friend, connected peer to peer. Quiz builds questions on the device with a local language model, and you answer by cutting the cube holding the right one.

What you need

A desktop or laptop browser with WebGL and camera access, plus about two metres of clear space. Phones and tablets are not supported, because the game needs a camera far enough back to see your whole upper body. A plain text version of this page is available to any client that asks for it with an Accept header of text/markdown.
